Beyond the confines of the church, BIGA runs several programs meant to build grow fully equiped christians for this greater calling.
Pastoral Programs
These are programs support the spiritual growth of members and include: worship services and
observance of ordinances and practices as contained in the statement of faith; messages of hope to
the members undergoing difficult situations in life; and welfare and care for bereaved families, persons
with special needs and those seeking help. Further the programs cover the departmental support to
the groups of women, men, youth, teenagers and children; spiritual activities for praise and worship,
bible studies, seminars, workshops, conferences and trainings.
Community-based Programs
TThese programs focus on the unique needs of the community and include the following: promoting
mental health, sense of purpose, physically health, connection with others, staying positive, and
becoming more resilient. The programs further promote cultural heritage by activities of music, art,
language and diverse talents; youth mentorship for building confidence, setting personal goals, and
meaningful engagements; and seniors’ programs that ensure seniors participate in activities with
dignity and respect.
Outreach Programs
These are programs that extend beyond the confines of the members touching the larger community
from which members are drawn. These include chaplaincy services that provide spiritual support to
those in prisons, hospitals and confinements; volunteering activities; charity and advocacy for what is
good for a better community.
Empowerment Programs
These are socio-economic programs that seek to address the day-to-day challenges facing members
such as housing, newcomers support and the plight of the vulnerable. These programs are premised
on promoting start-ups through information sharing, partnerships and collaborations.
Newcomers Support Programs
The programs include: orientation programs to deal with culture shock, weather, family separations
and settlement. These programs include information sharing sessions on immigration process,
employment and education opportunities; and social connection sessions: that promote social
interactions, networking and peer learning.
